Install WordPress using Fantastico in cPanel

Fantastico is a popular third-party script installer for cPanel that makes installing WordPress and other applications a one-click process.

Step-by-Step Installation

Step 1: Access Fantastico

Log into your cPanel account and scroll to the "Software/Services" section. Click on the Fantastico icon (it looks like a smiley face).

Step 2: Find WordPress

In the left column of Fantastico, find and click on "WordPress" under the "Blogs" category.

Step 3: Start Installation

Click on "New Installation" to begin the WordPress installation wizard.

Step 4: Configure Installation

Fill in the following details:

  • Install on domain: Select your domain
  • Install in directory: Leave blank to install in the root, or enter a subdirectory (e.g., "blog")
  • Admin access data: Set your admin username and password
  • Base configuration: Enter your site name and admin email

Step 5: Complete Installation

Review your settings, click "Install WordPress", and then click "Finish installation". Fantastico will automatically create the database, upload WordPress files, and configure everything for you.

Step 6: Access Your WordPress Site

Visit your domain to see your new WordPress site. Access the admin panel at: http://yourdomain.com/wp-admin/
